Charlene Caple, a graduate of Missouri Auction School, has been a licensed auctioneer since 1979. She is currently a member of the Pennsylvania Auctioneer’s Association and was, in the past, president, vice president, and also director of the Central Chapter of the PAA. She presides over estate and general auctions statewide. On the appraisal side, she often provides personal property appraisals as well as extensive analyses for estate and domestic purposes.

Charlene as Educator
Besides her many years of auctioneering experience, Charlene is instructor of the 20-credit Pennsylvania Auctioneering Program at the Harrisburg Area Community College, a position she has held since 1983. The program was expended to Clarion University in 2012.
She conducts appraisal seminars and clinics for appraising antiques and collectibles several times per year throughout Pennsylvania. These sessions cover appraisal fundamentals and theory, as well as the “how to in conducting appraisal assignments” for antique dealers and auctioneers. She has been president of the Institute of Appraisal of Personal Property since 1998.
Charlene as Author
Charlene authored the textbook, “Bid One and All” with Study Guide, which is used as the primary textbook for the Pennsylvania Auctioneering Programs throughout the Commonwealth. The book is also the basis for the PA Auctioneer’s State Exam.
She also created a CD entitled “Chant-a-long with Caple“, which is given to students of Charlene’s classes.
